Fans in Germany will have the chance to enjoy Europe's top competition like never before following an agreement between Euroleague Basketball and SPORT1 to broadcast games from the beginning to the end of the 2010-11 season.

SPORT1, which already broadcasts the national Beko Basketball Bundesliga, will bring its expertise to Turkish Airlines Euroleague broadcasts on both the new pay-TV channel SPORT1+ as well as on free TV at SPORT1! With the Euroleague Basketball, SPORT1 has secured exclusive rights to Europe’s premier basketball club competition for the German-speaking region: The 10-year-old pan-European league pits the 24 best club teams on the continent against each other. Representing Germany in the current 2010-11 season are national champions and cup winners Brose Baskets Bamberg.

During the 2010-11 season, pay-TV channel SPORT1+ will show all Brose Baskets’ matches live and exclusive, as well as the Turkish Airlines Final Four from 6 to 8 May 2011 and other selected top matches from the Euroleague. Two of Brose Baskets’ group-stage matches, against Virtus Roma on Nov. 25 and against Real Madrid on Dec.15, will be shown on free TV at SPORT1.

Brose Baskets are up against some real high flyers in Group B, including Real Madrid and last year’s finalists, Olympiacos, as well as Unicaja Malaga, Virtus Roma and Spirou Basket Charleroi.

The Turkish Airlines Euroleague kicks off on SPORT1+ this coming Monday 18 October live from 8:40 p.m. with the "Game of the Week", from the same Group B as Bamberg. In that opening game of the season, Real Madrid will meet Olympiacos.
