Pucki am 29.01.2010 um 13:08
The first week of the Top 16 was so exciting and evenly matched that three players will share the weekly MVP honor after having posted performance index ratings of 29 each. Robertas Javtokas of BC Khimki Moscow Region and Ramunas Siskauskas of CSKA Moscow led their teams to key home victories to open the Top 16, while Fernando San Emeterio of Caja Laboral shined in a losing effort. Siskauskas paced CSKA to an 86-78 win against Unicaja with 23 points as he made 4 of 5 three-point shots and 5 of 5 free throws. He added 4 rebounds, 3 assists, a block and 6 fouls drawn, good for his 29 index rating. One night later, with the same index rating in the same vicinity, Javtokas marched Khimki to an 83-70 home win against Cibona with 17 points on 8-of-11 two-point shooting. He also posted 9 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, a block and 4 fouls drawn. Despite a home loss against Olympiacos, San Emeterio reached his 29 index rating thanks to 20 points scored, including 3-for-5 three-point shooting, as well as 3 rebounds, 7 assists, a steal and 4 fouls drawn. Behind them came another crush of performers tied for fourth place with index ratings of 25 each: Josh Childress of Olympiacos joined Juan Carlos Navarro and Boni Ndong of Regal FC Barcelona as first-week winners in the Top 16, while Marcelinho Huertas of Caja Laboral matched them but could not get his team the victory.
